This video taught me na magpasalamat sa mga pagkaing nasa mesa at sa mga sakripisyong ginawa ng aking mga mahal sa buhay para lamang mabigyan kami ng pagkain. They not only provide us with food but the other needs that we have. However, I learned that the abaca farmers waited a long time for harvest, and getting the fiber out of the abaca tree is so tiring and what makes me sad is that these people did so much hard work from planting the tree, protecting it from bad weather, harvesting it, taking it down to the market and yet get very little money. Ito ay napaka-unfair.

As a young individual, I have realized that abaca farmers should not depend on abaca which takes a year to harvest. They had better plant other crops which takes short time to harvest and need less amount of maintenance. Sa ganitong paraan, hindi na kailangang maghintay ng isang taon ang kanilang pamilya para makakain ng masasarap na pagkain sa mesa. Ang mga pananim tulad ng kamote, mais, and many other crops ay mas madaling itanim at ang oras ng pag-aani ay hindi masyadong mahaba. Sa tingin ko, dapat itong isaalang-alang ng ating mga magsasaka. Also, the government should do something to our abaca farmers. Provide them with their needs and at least help them with the transportation instead of walking down the mountain in order to reach the market. Close monitoring on the price of abaca should be done. If this crop can only be harvested once a year, its price should at least compensate. I think the buyer's price is just too low for such rare product not to mention the hard work our farmers did.

My Family Day Journal

For my family day journal, I chose some of my favourite moments or days I've spent with each one of them. I love my family, they make me feel loved and complete. I'd do anything to experience these memories with my whole family again. ♡

 

    Christmas 2020. At that time, it felt like every other Christmas day I've celebrated, but little did I know, it'd be the last one I'd celebrate in this house. We were wearing matching colours to church and I think we looked cute!

We won the contest for the prettiest star lantern! Or "parol" a custom passed across every island in the Philippines. It was mostly my dad who worked on it, and I must say he did an amazing job! The first prize was 10,000 baht and we brought it home! ✩

We went on a trip to Khao Kho in Phetchabun province to refresh our minds. We never travel due to my parents busy schedule, so when we do, I always make the most of it! 

I saved the best for last. We attended our first Christmas Gala! I was two and my brother, 3. This night was definitely one of my core memories, everyone looked stunning! I'm so grateful to have experienced such a wonderful night, although I barely remember anything at all from when I was little..☄

Canete, Angel's my nickname. I'm a year 8 in the class Unity and as an online student in the school Asian College of Technology, I had to improvise a lot during Intrams. I made the best of what little resources I had

during this time. Which is what I will be explaining next!

First, I went skateboarding with my brother. I wasn't so good at it at first, but I must say, I improved quite a lot in one hour.

Secondly, I played basketball in the arcade with my best friend during our last meeting!

It was easier than having to actually play basketball in a real court and hoop but a basketball arcade machine was all I could lean on during these busy times.

The only actual real sport I could achieve, was playing volleyball with my brother.

He's a pro at it! He taught me very well considering I had half a day to learn and to play.

I didn't realize how fun playing sports were since I've always seen them as exhausting and a waste of energy, but this experience completely changed my mind. Though, I'm still terrified of failure and the possible accidents that can occur during a game. I do hope to overcome it in the future, I'll make sure I do my best.

Rabies sa Pilipinas

Rabies sa Pilipinas, 

Ang mga aso at pusa ay karaniwang mga hayop sa Pilipinas, bilang mga alagang hayop o ligaw na hayop. Hinahangaan sila ng mga tao dahil sa kanilang cute na hitsura, walang alinlangan na sila ay mapagmahal at itinuturing na mga pampawala ng stress. Ngunit ang mga cute na hayop na ito ay maaaring mapanganib kung mapabayaan at hindi mabakunahan ng anti-rabies. 

What is it? ;  Ang rabies ay isang nakakahawang sakit na viral at maiiwasan ito kung kumilos ka kaagad. Karaniwan itong naipapasa sa pamamagitan ng isang gasgas o kagat mula sa isang masugid na hayop. Ang partikular na sakit na ito ay kumukuha ng buhay ng 200-300 katao taun-taon. Sa katunayan, ika-anim ang Pilipinas pagdating sa rabid mortality! 

How? ;  Maaari kang makatulong na maiwasan ang sakit na ito sa pamamagitan ng, pagpapabakuna sa iyong mga alagang hayop. Panatilihin ang mga alagang hayop sa loob o nakakulong at walang walang kasamang mga alagang hayop na gumagala sa labas. Panghuli, iulat ang mga ligaw na hayop sa mga lokal na awtoridad upang masuri o mabakunahan ang mga ito. Ano ang dapat gawin: Kung nakagat ng rabied na hayop, agad na hugasan ang sugat ng sabon at tubig nang hindi bababa sa 10 minuto, pagkatapos ay disimpektahin ang sugat ng alkohol o iodine solution. And last but not least, para sa pinakamahalagang bahagi ay ang pagkonsulta sa isang doktor at tumanggap ng wastong Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) mula sa mga sinanay na health care workers at hindi kailanman mula sa mga tradisyunal na manggagamot. 

Finally, ang rabies ay isang seryosong problema ngunit ito ay malulutas kung tayo ay responsableng may-ari ng alagang hayop. 

Tandaan nating lahat na, IF WE LOVE OUR PETS, WE MUST HAVE THEM VACCINATED BY THE VET! ✩✩

Museum Blog about River Nan !!

 

I live in Phitsanulok, Thailand and this, is the Nan River (แม่น้ำน่าน) which is one of the most important tributes of the Chao Phraya River in Nakhon Sawan along with the Ping River. The provinces along this river are of course, the province Nan, Phitsanulok, Uttaradit and Phichit.  The Nan River originates in the Luang Prabang Range in the province Nan, on the Laotian boarder. It receives the Yom River within Chum Saeng District just above Nakhon Sawan. From there, the Ping and the Nan River combine to form the Chao Phraya River. 

The river is the 5th longest river in Thailand and is about 740 kilometres ! According to Wikipedia, ancient civilizations lived in the fertile land along the Nan River and its tributaries, as is evidenced by Stone Age tools unearthed near Phitsanulok.

Me and my brother 10 years ago during the Loy Krathong Festival always held in the Nan River! People usually come to the Nan River to float their Krathongs in the water and release beautiful floating lanterns onto the air.

People also go boat racing! They stopped for 2 years because of the pandemic but this year they came back! We were lucky enough to see a bit of it. It's usually only held in July to October, during the rainy season since the tide is high. A few years back, the tide was SO high that it reached my previous high school next to it!
